web paper article ideas

So, I'm just brainstorming articles that could go in our web paper. Forgive me if I bounce around a lot.
I'd like to have another college corner, though I'm not entirely sure what local colleges we have or haven't covered. Graduation needs to be included, of course, and an ad for year books. Something on testing would probably be beneficial, but it should be timely (so if we don't get anything posted until after the CRTs it'll have to be a review, though I'd like to be more efficient with our time than that). The African sponsoring, albeit late, should have a spot, even if it is a small one. The Graduation party should be advertised as well as the outcome for our Prom royalty. In fact, a short feature on them may be nice, seeing how nontraditional it was. State of the school address needs to be in there somewhere. We have to find out if there is anything going on in the math/science or arts/drama department. I know musical theatre is planning a cabaret and the physics classes are working with fishertechnik and have a physic bowl coming up soon. I also think it would be important to have something on ACT testing, like future test dates and maybe a list of website that can help you prepare for it. Some kind of human interest story would be fun to throw in, too. I do believe there recently was some kind of walk that you could get a free non-suit in Clark's class if you participated in, but I'm not really sure what it was (we may not have to include that, but I'm just trying to list things going on in the school).

If I come up with anything else, I'll post it.

  1. The 5k Spring Walk is what earned Mr. Clark's students 2 free non-suits. I'm sure if he stays on he'll do the same for next year's 5ks (we have two, the Turkey Trot and The Spring whatever it is that the PTSO hosts). As far as I know, Bonnie and I were the only two Thom Stohel was first place runner, Pam Stohel was third place runner, Bonnie Stohel tied with me for third place walker. And Mr. Stohel took the zipper (which means oldest heart surgery participent, or something of that nature).

I think that if we include ACT we should include the SATs also, because they are both viable options for the crowd seeking college education. Dates will be easy.

I think College Corner should be paired with some sort of Senior Society (or whatever, hahaha), so that seniors can have constant updates. I'm sure that next year, Mrs. Kidd will try to do a bunch more things with them so la la la la. And maybe an Alumni Alcove. Hahaha. See the alliterations? xD
I think that would be important to provide information from/for all of those groups.

College corner can be a bit more broad once we get alumni involved, because we do have a few alumni that have gone out of state for schooling, so they could do features on where they are all at (eventually).
That will be a cool project for next year.

I think our calendar should be all encompassing, also. With PTSO and Board meetings. And whatever Community Council thing Jordan is working on for next year. Then we can advertise for all events, including every club meeting, and not just a few, you know. Maybe next year, as clubs form and start meeting, exposes can be offered for all of them in articles and stuff. That would be something that would be discussed with the club's advisor and leader.

There are some events going on over the summer. Dr. Arnold and Mrs. Taylor have like this nature poetry summer project they're doing for students. Someone could look into similar things. Like last summer, they had students do mock class settings to evaluate teachers applying for jobs, etc.

The entire last week of school has a bunch of nonsesne going (I have most of the senior calendar items), so that would need to be advertised/explained in some sort of revelation type article. Haha.

Anyway, I'll stop talking off your ear.
    Hahaha.
    Hope your weekend was bombin'.
